Now I’m totally confused. Is GH trying to perform medical procedures or are they trying to expand their mental health capacity? If they are trying to expand their mental health facilities I’m all for it. If they are trying to leverage their mental health setup into a medical facility I’m not so sure. It’s hard know if we are getting the straight scoop, JB’s lips were moving.

Please bring home some bacon Representative David Lewis

I am now old enough to remember the old slogan, “bring home some bacon”, that politicians once used in their campaigns for the North Carolina General  Assembly and US Congress.  In the case of many who have represented Harnett County in the NCGA they have brought home the bacon.  One does not have to spend very long thinking about the record of Bob Etheridge, Willis Brown or C.P. Stewart who did many things for our county while serving.  Representative Lewis once said he could not get as much accomplished as he would like due the Democratic control of both the NC House and NC Senate.  Well that changed in 2010 and Lewis was tied up most of the time on the redistricting so bringing home the bacon came in the way of county being spilt in more than one Congressional District.  I hope his idea of bacon is no more of that stuff but some real good smoked bacon or maybe some country ham.  We need jobs, jobs, jobs so bringing a new industry or a medical service or labs to go along with our new hospital and medical school.  Also we need additional funding for our over crowded schools and the needed school buildings.  There are so many things that our county needs for us to have full employment and not be in a state of something similar to the “Great Depression”.  He has aligned himself with the new Harnett County Board of Commissioners and the Chairman so they together could help out in bringing needed items to Harnett County.  He is friends with the newly elected State Senator from Harnett County and the leadership in the NCGA so slicing bacon should not be a problem for him in Raleigh.  In his latest news report about his run for Majority Leader he said, “His first priority is to be the best representative he can be for the people of Harnett County, he believes holding the position of majority leader would only be beneficial to his home county”. David talks about issues in the piece and his accomplishments but most of those are issues that are not about jobs or infrastructure. The items he mentions are mostly divisive issues that cost time and mostly turn out as mostly partisan. Okay I think David is a very nice person and respectable businessman.  He says that being in the high position would be beneficial to his home county and if we take him for this word then he needs to tell us what he plans to do or can do for Harnett County.  We as citizens are hungry for some bacon.
