Harnett Health Auxiliary Holds Luncheon

Harnett County, N.C. (November 12, 2013) – The Harnett Health Auxiliaryrecently held a Fall luncheon including guest speaker Chris Custer, PT, OCS, a physical therapist and certified orthopedic specialist with Harnett Health.

“Our auxiliary members thoroughly enjoyed the chance to gather as a group and to have Chris speak about healthy aging with a focus on strength training,”commented Barbara Bynum, Harnett Health Auxiliary President. “Chris shared information in a fun, easy to understand format.”

Sondra Davis, Harnett Health Vice President of Human Resources and System Development, said, “Our healthcare system has more than 70 auxiliary members who give their time and talents to help support the Harnett Health mission. We are extremely grateful to them for all their hard work and dedication.”

Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to share skills and talents to help others by volunteering with Harnett Health. Volunteers are needed seven days a week for morning, afternoon and evening duties. People are currently needed at Betsy Johnson Hospital and Central Harnett Hospital. Some of the ways volunteers help include making toys for sick children, working in the gift shop at Betsy Johnson Hospital, greeting visitors at the hospitals’ information desks, performing clerical work, and helping at health system events. Volunteers can choose whether or not they have patient contact. People 18 and older may volunteer and high school students are eligible through a special student volunteer program.
