OI60167242_bmclambBenson, NC:  Mrs. Brookie Lou Hinson McLamb, age 66, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Caudle and Rev. James McLamb. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. McLamb was born December 14, 1946 in Harnett County to the late Earl Hinson and Angeliene McLamb Raynor.  She was a homemaker.
Surviving are husband, William Thomas McLamb; children, Freddie McLamb and fiancée, Sherri Haire, of Roseboro, Thomas McLamb of Benson, Michael McLamb and wife, Michelle, of Angier, and Barbara McLamb of Benson; brother, Earl Wayne Hinson and wife, Laura Frances, of Coats; 6 grandchildren, Cynthia McLamb, Lenore McLamb, Mitchell McLamb, Thomas McLamb, Jr., Dusty McLamb and Melissa McLamb; and 3 great grandchildren, Hannah, Brayden, and Madelyn McLamb.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 and other times at the home of Thomas McLamb, 67 Bristol Lane,

Faye Yow

April 23, 1940 – November 14, 2013

Mrs. Faye Powell Yow, 73, of Lillington died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Obie Powell and Bertha Davis Powell. Mrs. Yow was unselfishly devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Holland.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at O’Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Rev. Janet Buffaloe and Rev. Michael Sadtler officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Yow is survived by her husband of 54 years, Melvin Yow of the home; mother, Bertha Davis Powell of Lillington, 3 daughters, Gloria Eller and husband Shawn; Diane Stewart and husband Michael; Barbara Newton and husband Bryan all of Lillington. She was the proud Me Ma of Jacob and Joshua Eller; Bradley and Davis Stewart; Ross, Lindsey, and Mackenzie Newton; brother, Leon Powell and wife Delia of Lillington; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

 

 

Robert J. Frederick

1097_FrederickPhotoRaleigh – Robert “Bob” Frederick passed away on Tuesday at his residence.  He was born in Kenton, Ohio.  His parents preceded him in death.  His wife, June, after sixty-four years and four days, preceded him in death on August 31, 2009.      Surviving are his  son, Barry, of Raleigh; granddaughter, Kathryn Davis and her husband, Billy, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; great-grandsons, Chandler, Dustin, and Brayden; and former daughter-in-law, Fay Mitchell.      Mr. Frederick served in the 13th Abn. Div. during WWII.  He retired on February 29, 1988 after thirty-one years with the Employment Security Commission of NC.  He was awarded The  Order of the Long Leaf Pine by then Governor  James Martin.      A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 16, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610.  Msgr. John Williams, Pastor of St. Joseph’s,  will officiate.  Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.      The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 PM Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.  After the funeral on Saturday, friends and family will gather at the home of Fay Mitchell, 714-D Crown Court, Raleigh, NC 27608.      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27605-1351 or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Attn: Maintenance Fund, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610-2818.
