Marina has made a slight improvement today. Her fever has lowered to 100.4. It was determined that she had an ilieus(blockage) in her intestines which caused the distended abdomen. They placed an NG tube which helped significantly. She is now on heavy duty antibiotics to fight off the pneumonia and remains intubated. She is receiving TPN/Lipids for nutrition via IV access. Her pain is being managed well. She is alert at times and motions for the message board so she can write what she wants. Tonight she kept writing she was thirsty. We had to explain that she couldn’t have water since she was intubated. She gets a little frustrated not being able to communicate. Her vital signs look much better. We prayed over her tonight and let her rest. We are pleading with everyone to keep praying hard for Marina’s recovery. We continue to ask for NO visitors at this time except immediate family. Please know that each prayer, comment, and blessing is deeply appreciated.
