Shooting in Erwin Leaves one Shot and One on the Run

At approximately 0051 hours on January 1, 2014 Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Communications received a 911 call in reference to shots fired. Deputies were dispatched to 4930 Bunnlevel Erwin Rd. Erwin. Investigation revealed that Marcus Dante McNeill (B/M 37 YOA of Erwin) was the victim of a gunshot wound and was taken to Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital prior to arrival of Law Enforcement. The shooting appears to have occurred in the driveway of listed address. Early this morning warrants were obtained for Derrick McNeill of S. Ellis Ave. Dunn (B/M, 28 YOA). 1 Ct. Assault w/a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The victim was later air lifted to another medical facility.
It is not known if the suspect and victim are related.
