One of the Harnett County Schools computer technicians, Lou Plummer, recently spoke to the Benhaven Elementary 4th and 5th graders about the whole process of hiking the Appalachian Trail. He told students about how he prepared for the trip, what life on the trail was like, the challenges that he faced, the beauty of things he saw, and the animals he saw. At the end, he issued a challenge to the students to dream big and strive to achieve their dreams. Benhaven students presented him with a shirt at the conclusion of his program.
