Harnett Health celebrates milestone service anniversaries and GEM winners
Harnett County, N.C. (January 6, 2013) – Harnett Health celebrated employees with milestone service anniversaries and GEM winners at a special recognition service.
“All our employees are very important to us,” said Harnett Health President and CEO Ken Bryan. “They work hard every day to deliver quality, compassionate care to the citizens in this area. Our employees have earned the highest quality scores in our entire history, and we have seen a tremendous improvement in patient satisfaction. My deepest congratulations not only to our milestone service anniversary recipients and our GEM winners, but to all Harnett Health employees for continuing to raise the bar in service excellence for the benefit of all our patients.”

GEM Recognition
“Our Going the Extra Mile (GEM) program is a way patients and employees can highlight the hard work of deserving employees who go above and beyond their typical job responsibilities through the year,” said Sondra Davis, Vice President of Human Resources and System Development. “These employees exemplify the quality, compassionate care and service excellence that is part of our Harnett Health mission.”

Davis explains the program, “One employee is recognized each quarter as a GEM recipient from patient and employee nominations. Then, from those quarterly recipients, a GEM of the Year is selected by the Employee Council.”
GEM of the Year
Adam Ford – System Administrator, Information Systems Department
Adam was nominated for a GEM award for going out of his way to help a fellow employee access critical computer files to assist with a patient need. The nomination stated, “He could have said he didn’t have time to do this for me because he was working on a very important project for the hospital, but he took the time to do this to help a patient in need.”
Adam works in our Information Systems Department helping to ensure smooth computer systems operations. When asked about Adam’s work, his supervisor, Tim Krieger, Harnett Health’s Chief Information Officer said, “Adam always has a can do attitude no matter what the task at hand may be. He continues to learn and update his skills, even taking personal time to work on certification courses and enhance his trouble shooting skills to better provide fast and efficient customer service. Our department and Harnett Health truly benefit from his positive outlook and his skills.”
