The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office has recently received multiple reports of criminals breaking into unoccupied rental properties and removing large appliances (stoves, refrigerators etc.). The criminal’s method of operation is to enter the residence through a back window or door to gain access to a garage. They pull their vehicle into the garage and close the door while they load the stolen prop…erty into the vehicle. We would encourage you to be on the lookout for this type of suspicious activity. If you do see something suspicious, call 911 immediately. Also, make note of any identifiers of the suspect and suspect vehicles. You should not make an attempt to apprehend a suspect. Please share with friends and family that may live next to a rental property.
