Busy Day at Harnett County Board of Election
Candidates file for Office on the First Official day of Filling
At 12:00PM on the 10th the Harnett County Board of elections was busy taking care of candidates that decided to file on the first day of the official filling period here in North Carolina.
First in line was Harnett County Clerk of Court Marsha Johnson, Ms. Johnson will be running for the clerk seat that she currently holds. Second in line was Brad Salmon, Salmon is vying for the NC House seat currently held by Rep. Mike Stone of Lee County.
Sheriff Larry Rollins was on hand to file for re-election to continue service the
citizens of Harnett County, Sheriff Rollins said that he enjoys waking up every morning and working with his team that makes up over 260 employees that are under Sheriff Rollins and the Harnett County Sheriff’s office. Rollins said that election time is when the citizens have the chance to evaluate the work and effort that the sheriff’s office has done and it’s one that he does not take lightly. “I hope that the citizens are happy with the job were doing and the protection that were providing”
Joe Langley was on hand to throw in his hat for a chance to face current Senator Ron Rabin; Mr. Langley said that his main objective is to bring real transparency to government.
Chuck Levorse current Chair of the Harnett County Board of education filed his paper work for re-election for the 3rd district of Harnett County.
According to the filing data on the board of elections website, Ron Rabin filed his paperwork along with current Vice Chair Gary House that will face re-election in 2014
