Erwin Elementary School’s 2nd Annual Living Wax Museum
March 11, 2014
Famous African-Americans, both past and present, were represented at Erwin Elementary School’s 2nd Annual Living Wax Museum. During the month of February, fourth graders learned more about the life and accomplishments of famous African Americans. Once they completed their research, students created biographies and posters as a way to share their knowledge with others in their school and community. The project required students to utilize reading and writing skills but also provided a creative outlet for those with artistic talents. Many students came to school dressed as the person they had learned about for the event.
