Elderly Man found burned to death in Fire

LILLINGTON, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a man was found burned to death in a yard in Lillington.
It happened Friday around 3:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Kramer Road.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said 84-year-old Jesse Scott died while he was apparently burning debris in the yard. They say a family member found Scott unresponsive.
Authorities say the exact cause of death is known at this time. However, there is no indication of a crime.
Scott’s body was transported to Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.
