Congratulations to the Harnett Central High Key Club

Congratulations to the Harnett Central High Key Club, advised by HCHS teacher Carrie Johnson, for bringing home a group of awards from the Carolinas District Convention in Durham, NC. At the convention, the 19 HCHS Key Club members won the following awards:
3rd place club poster, 2nd place digital poster, 2nd place non-traditional scrapbook, 1st place traditional scrapbook, and 1st place club video (4th year in a row).
The club also won second place Kiwanis Family Award for their Buddy Backpack Food Drive, The Zeller Award for UNICEF fundraising for the Eliminate Project, first place District Project Award for the Dr. Seuss Birthday Party at the Boys and Girls Home, and first place Major Emphasis Programs Award for their March of Dimes team – Team Abidab.
The Key Club was also recognized as a Distinguished Club for their more than 4,000 hours of community service and more than $5000 dollars in fundraising.
Additionally, Mary Kubeny was elected to serve as Lieutenant Governor for the division, 11c, and Kimberly McGee was awarded a $1,000 Key Club International Matching Funds Scholarship, one of the highest honors bestowed on a single member of the Carolinas District Key Club.
