Meth Lab Suspected in Spring Fire, under investigation

On Sunday May 11, 2014 shortly after midnight Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to 8335 Elliott Bridge Rd. Spring Lake to assist Fire Department. At approximately 10:00 PM on the 10th, two subjects were transported by private passenger vehicle to West Area 15 Fire Department, located at 6989 Ramsey St. Fayetteville. Emergency Services Personnel reported that the two subjects had severe burns over their bodies. Both subjects were transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital by Cumberland County EMS. Shortly after arrival at the hospital both subjects were flown to Chapel Hill Burn Center. They are listed as having life threatening injuries.
West Area 15 Fire Department does serve this area of Harnett County and responded to 8335 Elliott Bridge Rd. to check status of the home. Harnett County Sheriff’s Office was contacted after members of the Fire Department arrived on scene.
Harnett County Fire Marshall’s Office along with members of the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Criminal and Narcotics Investigation Divisions also responded. The investigation revealed that an explosion/flash fire occurred inside an outbuilding which is approximately 16 feet by 20 feet and located to the side of the main residence. The cause of the explosion/flash fire is under investigation at this time by the Sheriff’s Office and Fire Marshalls Office.
It appears that person(s), other than those injured, were present at time of the incident or shortly afterwards. The driver of the vehicle has not been positively identified at this time.
