North Carolina United Methodist Conference Calls for Better Pay, and Clean Water
On Friday morning, the NC Conference members adopted
resolutions calling for fighting hunger and homelessness;
raising the state minimum wage, restoring the state
Earned Income Tax Credit and restoring unemployment
benefits to the level prior to 2013 cuts; and restoring staff
in the state’s Department of Environment and Natural
Resources while holding Duke Energy accountable for
cleaning up the Dan River Coal Ash spill.
