Veterans Health Fair Coming to Lillington June 24
“Area Veterans can enroll in the VA health care system”
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Veterans in and around Lumberton can enroll in the VA health care system and receive health information about various services available to them from representatives of the Fayetteville VA Medical Center (VAMC) Rural Health Outreach team on June 24.
The medical center’s rural health team will conduct a wellness health fair at the Harnett County Complex, 307 E. Cornelius Harnett Blvd., Hwy 401 North, Lillington, NC 27546 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The rural health team consists of a nurse educator and health care specialists who can provide information on diabetes management, controlling hypertension and cholesterol levels, women’s health care, mental health services and other specialized programs available to Veterans. An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be on-hand to discuss VA health benefits and accept Veterans’ enrollments on site.
Also on hand from the Fayetteville VAMC will be representatives from Women’s Health and the OIF/OEF/OND (Operations Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom/New Dawn) Programs.
Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event. Veterans are highly encouraged to bring copies of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.
