Girls Struck and Killed in Spring Lake

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. -A five-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle on Spring Avenue Wednesday evening near her home just outside of Spring Lake.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. near N.C. Highway 87.
Troopers say Kalia Parker ran in front of a car. The driver couldn’t stop in time and struck her.
She was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Hospital where she later died.
The driver will not be charged.
