Erwin Elementary School’s fourth graders Learn about (HAWC)

Erwin Elementary School’s fourth graders spent the last two weeks of the school year learning about Harnett Animal Welfare Coalition (HAWC) and organizing a fundraiser to help the organization. The students raised $130, which they donated to the organization that is helping Harnett County’s pets and citizens. Students started off conducting their own research about HAWC by reading the group’s online website. Kristen and Michael Perry, founders of the organization, came to talk with the students about how HAWC started, its mission, and the programs it sponsors.
