Overhills High math teacher named Harnett County Schools Teacher of the Year!!

Congratulations to Jeffrey Loewen, Overhills High math teacher, who was named Harnett County Schools Teacher of the Year!! Mr. Loewen will now represent Harnett County in the regional Teacher of the Year interviews in October.
Mr. Loewen came to Harnett County from California, where he taught high school math for 14 years. He joined the HCS team in 2006 when he took a teaching job at Overhills High School. He has continued to teach Geometry, Algebra 2, Discrete Math, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics at Overhills for eight years. He also coaches Men’s and Women’s Golf.
Mr. Loewen is a graduate of California State University, Bakersfield, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He also received his Secondary Education Degree from CSU – Bakersfield. He received his CLAD Certification and Coaching Certification from University of San Diego and is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
