rabinattack2On September 12, all Harnett Central Middle students assembled at the baseball field to join school students across the nation in celebrating the 200th anniversary of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
The Harnett Central High Color Guard presented the colors and then the HCMS choruses in grades 6-8 joined in leading the entire student body in singing the national anthem. Choral teacher, Susan Morrow, shared with the students the story of how the national anthem was written.
All students who have family members currently serving in the military were invited to come forward and be recognized and the brief program concluded with the HCMS combined choruses singing “God Bless America.”
The program was coordinated by HCMS choral directors, Claudia Dickens and Susan Morrow.
