Local Politicians Gearing Up for Mudslinging Campaigns

Inside the Republican Strategy Meeting

For the Dispatch:

Daniel Glover

We here at the Harnett Dispatch try our best to deliver the most accurate information to our readers, during the creation stage of this publication we made a promise to be transparent in everything we publish. In some case people or groups get upset that we release information that otherwise would not make it to the general public. Both parties are known to run nasty campaigns that attack each other, as you may know by the non-stop flyers and TV ads that are running around the clock on our local TV stations.

The Dispatch was able to gain inside information of a recent Harnett County Republican Campaign Strategy meeting and was able to see what the local Republican Party has in the works for the races here in Harnett.

The Republican Attack Plan

pomudA meeting was held roughly about two weeks ago that was attended by several Republican leaders both at the State and County level. One elected leader was there although he told event staff of a public forum that was being held at the same time that he had to meet with someone else. The purpose of the meeting was to come up with a strategy that would help their candidates win their perspective races. One of the Republican leaders stated that they were going to keep the attack ads going all the way through Election Day. A seated Commissioner asked the county parties media guy if there was a way to create fake email accounts and social media names to send out spam attack propaganda. The media guy answered the seated Commissioner and said they would have no problem creating the fake email accounts and social media accounts to attack the other side.

Then one elected official brought up an incident that had taken place about a former Republican Party supporter and worker getting caught damaging Republican candidates signs. One person brought up the idea that it should get leaked to the press so the general public would feel that the party is being attacked.

The Follow Up

Since gaining the information that was discussed that night at the Republican strategy meeting the Dispatch has noticed that many of the tactics are being deployed. The first one was the story about a gentleman damaging the signs and being caught by the police. The other local media source ran a story about it and from some of our sources the elected officials were not happy with the way the story was written and have been complaining about it to people in the public saying that it did not shed the right light on the problem. The part that the other media source failed to mention about this case is that both Republicans and Democrats have signs destroyed and stolen during election season.

The Part that the Republican Leadership Does not want you to know

They also failed to note that the individual that was charged with damaging the signs was an active Republican who for many years has been the person that sets up the Republican candidate’s signs during election season. They were concerned that the general public might question why a devoted Republican Party worker would be out there destroying his own party’s signs.

Social Media Accounts

We have also uncovered many social media accounts that have been created that are solely dedicated to attacking the other candidates and even our news publication. I guess we’re a target because we release the truth no matter the party. If you have any information about fake social media accounts please let us know we are working with a forensic computer consultant trying to uncover the true identity of these behind the scenes people.
