Local Candidates Disturbed by Childish Vandalism of Political signs
Signs Missing and Damaged

For the Dispatch
In a story that was published earlier this month in another Harnett publication, political candidates complained that their political signs were being stolen and damaged. This has become a standard in many of the local political races throughout the county over the last few years. In 2012 many local candidates’ signs were stolen and later found in dumpsters near the residences of the opposing parties supporters.
This election cycle repeats history
The Dispatch was contacted by a member of Steve Blackburn’s committee for county commissioner and was sent the image of a sign that had been damaged. The whole top part of the sign was ripped off that once said trustworthy. The Dispatch followed up by viewing the Facebook page of Mr. Blackburn’s campaign and noticed several comments that disapproved of the childish behavior of the people who are responsible for the damage. In one comment noted one person stated that “the vandal while cutting the sign spelled out WORTHY for HARNETT COUNTY COMMISSIONER”.
