A large crowd gathered today on the Cape Fear River to speak out against voter suppression that has taken place in the last two years. Several speakers were present at the rally speaking on topics that included Fracking and the long term damage that it would cause to the Cape Fear River, voter suppression and getting people to the polls to vote. The keynote speaker was Rev. Barber, president of the NC. NAACP. Mr. Barber encouraged people to get out and vote in order to stop the things that have been happening in Raleigh. The crowd then marched to the Harnett County board of elections to show their support of people having the right to vote.
