Fatal Drowning in Coats
Around 3:45PM today, Harnett County Dispatch received a call of a missing man that may have fallen into a pond. The caller was the wife of the man and stated that she did not know where her husband was and that the last time she had seen him was around 45 minutes earlier. Coats Fire Department along with Buies Creek Rescue and the dive team were dispatched to the 1500 block of Johnston County Rd. The dive team was able to recover the victim and they were transported to Betsy Johnston Hospital where he was pronounced expired upon arrival.

The owner of Cecil’s Paint and Body Shop was found dead in a Harnett County lake Sunday afternoon, relatives said.
Family members of Cecil Parrish said he went to walk his dog at about 3 p.m., but after not coming back and searching for him, his hat was found floating in a pond near Johnston County Road.
