To the surprise of many in the county, Good Hope received extension of it’s Certificate of need until March 31, 2016.
The extension had many stipulations not the least of which was the fact that Good Hope must obtain financing of the
$16 million dollar new hospital, authorized by the Certificate of need, no later than December 31st of this year.
Many in the county are wondering if Good Hope will seek the assistance of the county in obtaining this necessary
financing to build the new hospital as they did to fund initial operations of the new 16-bed inpatient mental health facility called Good Hope Behavioral Health Services, until the facility became financially self sustaining.
One might ask, with the critical need for schools that the county now faces, how much more can the county taxpayers
be involved in funding Good Hope?
